Why is purified water important?

Recent news stories have challenged the safety of public drinking water and highlighted studies that have found drugs and pharmaceuticals in municipal water supplies across the United States.  At present, it has been reported that the drinking water supplies of 46 million Americans is currently tainted with multiple pharmaceutical drug compounds that enter our bodies.  Prolonged exposure to these compounds has the potential to pose significant health risks for us.

The independent laboratory report concluded, "It is clear from the development progression that we have indicated a clear path to complete removal of many personal care and pharmaceutical compounds from drinking water.  The treatment equipment as tested at Microbac Laboratories, Inc., Southern Testing and Research Division has demonstrated a strong efficacy for the removal of these types of compounds,  many of which may be found in municipal and private well drinking water supplies.  The removal efficacy was demonstrated at a level of 1 ppb."
